Foreign investors buy Rs2.51bn worth of securities via SCRA

April 26, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended April 19, 2024 clocked in at Rs2.51 billion, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs805.6 million recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs4.26bn, which is around 3.98x higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs6.78bn, which is 3.61x higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs2.51bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs4.9bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs3.19bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.34bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs1.86bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs25.5bn, which marks a decline of Rs842.89m over the week.
