Foreign investors buy another Rs8.64bn via SCRA

May 10, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended May 03, 2024 clocked in at Rs8.12bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs591.29m recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

To note, foreign investors have remained net buyers for the tenth consecutive week.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs11.39bn, which is around 364.35% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs19.51bn, which is 540.96% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs8.12bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs16.47bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs8.94bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs9.17bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs2.07bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs26.73bn, which marks a decline of Rs571.6m over the week.
