April 21, 2025 (MLN): FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (PSX: FCEPL) posted a robust 63% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2025, clocking in at Rs1.08 billion [EPS: Rs1.42], up from Rs664.77 million [EPS: Rs0.87] in the same period last year.
The company’s revenue from contracts with customers declined slightly by 5.3% to Rs26.02bn, down from Rs27.46bn in Q1 2024.
However, cost of sales fell more sharply by 6.85% YoY, allowing gross profit to improve marginally by 2.5% to Rs4.75bn.
Administrative expenses rose 23.3% YoY to Rs527.14m, while distribution and marketing expenses dropped 13.5% to Rs1.88bn.
Other operating expenses surged 124% YoY to Rs233.84m.
Notably, other income more than doubled, increasing 183.7% YoY to Rs110.48m, supporting overall profitability.
Finance costs decreased significantly by 53.2% YoY, standing at Rs404.94m, likely due to better cash flow management and lower borrowing costs.
Profit before tax stood at Rs1.82bn, reflecting a strong 64.4% YoY increase, while taxation also rose by 66.1% to Rs732.49m.
