ECC to discuss Rs2.94bn funding for e-passport system

November 01, 2024 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet will meet today at 14:30 hours to discuss and likely approve the request for the provision of a shortfall of funds amounting to Rs2.94 billion (Foreign Exchange Component) under the current budget of the Passport Organization for FY 2024-25.

This funding is intended for the purchase of two E-Passport Personalization Systems and six desktop personalization machines.

During this meeting, the committee will also discuss the allocation of a Supplementary Grant amounting to Rs226.72 million, as well as a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) for the overhaul of engines for the G-1V VVIP aircraft during the current fiscal year 2024-25.

Additionally, the committee will review a request for a Technical Supplementary Grant for the Prime Minister's Office (Public), Prime Minister's Office (Internal), and the Prime Minister's Staff Colony under Demand No. 059 – Interior Division.

Furthermore, the committee will discuss the allocation of domestic and imported wheat stocks of PASSCO among agencies/regions for the food year 2024-25.

The transfer of the project titled "Emergency Housing Project (1st Revised)" from the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives to the Finance Division will also be reviewed.

The Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, will chair the meeting.
