ECC approves extension of operation of SNGPL plants till October 15

August 09, 2023 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Tuesday reviewed a summary regarding Urea fertilizer requirement for Rabi season 2023-24 and based on the proposals given by Fertilizer Review Committee (FRC), the ECC decided that the SNGPL-based plants may be allowed to operate beyond August 31, 2023, till October 15, 2023, a press release issued on the same day stated.

The committee has specified Fatima Fertilizer (Sheikhupura) and Agritech as the designated plants.

The summary of Urea fertilizer needs was tabled by the Ministry of Industries and Production.

The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal ministers, state ministers, and senior officials.
