Drug Regulatory Authority fixes maximum retail prices of drugs

January 11, 2019 (MLN): The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has fixed the maximum retail prices of drugs, subject to the following conditions:

  • Maximum retail prices of drugs may be increased by nine percent over and above the maximum retail prices as determined under the hardship category
  • Fifteen percent over and above existing maximum retails prices determined under Drug Pricing Policy

The revised maximum retail prices shall be printed on the label, and the manufacturers and importers of drugs shall provide calculations of revised maximum retail price of drugs to Division of Costing and Pricing of the Drug Regulatory Authority before affecting the increase.
