Dollar closes at all-time high of Rs 168.38

August 10, 2020 (MLN): The US Dollar on Monday closed the trading session at an all-time high of 168.38 against Pakistani rupee in the interbank market.

Previously, the highest recorded close was on July 20, 2020 at 168.30.

Pakistani Rupee (PKR) lost its ground against the US dollar as it depreciated by 50 paisa against US Dollar (USD) in today's interbank session as the currency closed the day's trade at PKR 168.38 per USD, against last session's closing of PKR 167.88 per USD.

The rupee saw a volatility free session as very little movement was recorded trading in a range of 45 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 168.40 and an intraday Low offer of 168.15.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 167.80/168.80 per USD.

Meanwhile, the currency lost 2 paisa to the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 219.8 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 219.79 per GBP.

On the other hand, PKR's value strengthened by 49 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 198.07 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 7.00/7.10 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 7.00/7.05 percent.
