Cyclone Biparjoy forces SSGCL to suspend gas supply to industries

June 15, 2023 (MLN): The Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (PSX: SSGC) has notified Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (PSX: FFBL) that it would not be able to supply gas to fertilizer and industrial sector amidst expected cyclone, FFBL's filing on PSX revealed today.

The stormy conditions have resulted in the non-availability of RLNG and a general shortage of indigenous gas, it added.

Accordingly, Urea and Ammonia plants were shut down on June 14 and will resume operations after the gas supply has been restored by SSGCL.

"DAP plant will, however, continue operating till June 16, 2023, and if the gas supply is not restored by then, the DAP plant will also shut down and operations will be restored once the gas supply is restored," the notification reads.
