August 22, 2019 (MLN): The price of cotton has escalated by Rs.200 per mnd due to lack of availability on account of heavy rain.

Owing to pouring rain in cotton zones of Pakistan, the quality of cotton has deteriorated, bringing the current price to Rs.8, 350 per mnd.

As per reports, China might soon start purchasing cotton from Pakistan as it has suspended buying it from the USA.

This might cause further inflation in cotton price in the near future,
