CM Punjab approves one year extension for BoP President

According to news brief on Dawn website, BOP Punjab President’s tenure has been extended for another year after Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Shahbaz Sharif approved the proposal by Fiancé Department.

Chief Minister Shahhaz Sharif approved the extension of the incumbent President at Bank of Punjab as the Bank could not reach a decision to hire another President. The provincial bank was under extreme pressure by the State Bank of Pakistan to appoint a President at the bank.

The tenure of Mr. Naeemuddin expired on December, 19th last year.

The company informed earlier that the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif constituted a committee for the appointment of a new president at BoP. The committee shortlisted Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf, Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, Akbar Hasan Khan, Naeemuddin Khan and Kausar Iqbal Malik.

The said applicants were shortlisted after interviewing 120 candidates for the job.

Since the selection process was expected to take some time, the tenure of Mr. Naeemuddin as the bank’s president has been extended for smooth functioning of the bank.
