Closing Bell: Wuthering Heights

February 13, 2020 (MLN): Following a breather of two days, the local markets resumed making losses on Thursday as the KSE-100 Index went down by 75 points and closed at 40,455-level.

The Index traded in a range of 462.02 points or 1.14 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 40,787.24 and a low of 40,325.22.

Of the 90 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 37 closed up 51 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 139.38 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 52 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 24 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 24 points, Textile Composite with 10 points and Fertilizer with 6 points.

The most points taken off the index was by PPL which stripped the index of 21 points followed by LUCK with 21 points, HUBC with 14 points, OGDC with 14 points and PSO with 13 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 36 points, Technology & Communication with 8 points, Insurance with 6 points, Vanaspati & Allied Industries with 3 points and Transport with 3 points.

The most points added to the index was by HBL which contributed 42 points followed by DGKC with 14 points, SYS with 8 points, UBL with 7 points and AKBL with 6 points.

All Share Volume increased by 17.11 Million to 197.44 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.17.50 Billion.

Total companies traded were 340 compared to 362 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 138 closed up, 177 closed down while 25 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 3,398 to 69,513.

Value Traded decreased by 0.46 Billion to Rs.7.10 Billion
