June 16, 2020 (MLN): The KSE-100 index ended the trading session on Tuesday with a 194.61 point or 0.58 percent gain and closed at 34,019.12 points.

According to Aba Ali Securities, recovery in local and international oil prices is one of the reasons which can be accredited for today’s positive performance. The trading, however, remained range-bound throughout the day as investors feared another country-wide lockdown.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 34,138.54

Of the 92 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 66 closed up 23 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 101.55 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 65 points, Commercial Banks with 32 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 23 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 21 points and Pharmaceuticals with 12 points.

The most points added to the index was by HUBC which contributed 19 points followed by POL with 18 points, OGDC with 18 points, PPL with 15 points and MARI with 15 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Food & Personal Care Products with 8 points, Automobile Assembler with 7 points, Cement with 2 points and Glass & Ceramics with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by FFC which stripped the index of 16 points followed by NESTLE with 14 points, IGIHL with 13 points, BAFL with 8 points and LUCK with 8 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 44.91 Million to 217.93 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.39.76 Billion.

Total companies traded were 375 compared to 355 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 252 closed up, 92 closed down while 31 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 14,232 to 93,414.

Value Traded decreased by 1.76 Billion to Rs.6.52 Billion
