Closing Bell: KSE-100 witnesses a tumultuous day; trades in range of 1825 points, Closes 6.27 points up

After a very tumultuous ride throughout the day, the market closed 6.27 points at the final bell. The market has moved within a point range of 1825 or a 4 percent.

The market in anticipation of result was down by 1134 points in the first half, moved up slowly to erase losses worth 614 points by the close of first half. However, during the Namaz Break the market witnessed multiple jolts in the form of Prime Minister's disqualification and resignation. The second half open witnessed a cumulative decline of 1670 points. From then on the market witnessed a heightened activity when KSE-100 erased all of its losses and gained 137 points before the close.

However, after the settlement the market had closed with a gain of 6.27 points.

The index touched an intra-day low of 44,235.94 points, a high of 46,060.55 and closed at a tally of 45,912.03 points.

The net gainers by price during today's session were; Nestle Pakistan NESTLE +499.00, Phillip Morris Pakistan PMPK +137.89, Mari Petroleum MARI +48.18, National Refinery Limited NRL +35.34 and Siemens Pakistan SIEM +35.00.

The net decliners by price during today's session were; Lucky Cement LUCK -36.04, Abbott Laboratories ABOT -26.42, Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan SAPL -25.00, Pak Suzuki Motor Company PSMC -24.95 and Murree Brewery Pakistan MUREB -22.49.

All Share Volume increased by 168.94 Million to 327.76 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.53.84 Billion.

Total companies traded were 364 compared to 365 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 218 closed up, 132 closed down while 14 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 56,823 to 116,656.

Value Traded increased by 14.79 Billion to Rs.21.11 Billion
