Closing Bell: KSE-100 hits the deck

November 12, 2019 (MLN): Following an 8-day long winning spree, the KSE-100 index landed in consolidation on Tuesday as it lost around 37.54 points and closed at 36,765.56-level.

The Index traded in a range of 509.38 points or 1.38 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 37,182.50 and a low of 36,673.12.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 48 closed up 47 closed down, while 0 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 189.21 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Fertilizer with 69 points, Commercial Banks with 49 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 34 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 27 points and Chemical with 8 points.

The most points taken off the index was by FFC which stripped the index of 35 points followed by DAWH with 25 points, EFERT with 25 points, POL with 20 points and MCB with 19 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Power Generation & Distribution with 80 points, Automobile Assembler with 17 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 16 points, Technology & Communication with 15 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 9 points.

The most points added to the index was by HUBC which contributed 58 points followed by INDU with 16 points, KAPCO with 14 points, TRG with 12 points and DGKC with 12 points.

All Share Volume increased by 9.12 Million to 292.06 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.12.56 Billion.

Total companies traded were 381 compared to 380 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 195 closed up, 173 closed down while 13 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 14,347 to 94,872.

Value Traded increased by 0.90 Billion to Rs.9.99 Billion
