Closing Bell: KSE-100 continues to linger in neutral zone

September 24, 2019 (MLN): The stock market continued to oscillate between red and green districts in today's session, and ultimately settled at 31,829 level by gaining merely 78 points.

The Index traded in a range of 455.33 points or 1.43 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 31,891.55 and a low of 31,436.22.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 51 closed up 37 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 70.56 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 33 points, Chemical with 19 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 17 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 10 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 10 points.

The most points added to the index was by PPL which contributed 23 points followed by COLG with 13 points, PSO with 13 points, BAHL with 12 points and LUCK with 10 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 40 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 6 points and Real Estate Investment Trust with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by MCB which stripped the index of 15 points followed by UBL with 15 points, HBL with 14 points, MEBL with 10 points and HUBC with 10 points.

All Share Volume increased by 2.19 Million to 88.81 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.26.42 Billion.

Total companies traded were 341 compared to 345 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 183 closed up, 137 closed down while 21 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 734 to 43,029.

Value Traded increased by 0.01 Billion to Rs.3.88 Billion
