Closing Bell – Index Declines by 1.32 Percent, closes at 51453.16 points

Market dropped a total of 685.74 points or a 1.32 percent today as nearly all of the scrips traded during the ay ended up in red. The index ferried downward due to profit taking in the MSCI led stocks which cumulatively dropped the market by 273 points.

The net gainers during today’s session were; Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited PAKT +2.58%, Mari Petroleum MARI 1.21%, Jubilee Life Insurance Company JLICL +2.08%, Wah Noble Chemicals WAHN +5.00% and EFU Life Insurance EFUL +5.00%

The net decliners during the session were; Rafhan Maize RMPL -1.36%, Sanofi Aventis Pakistan SAPL -2.84%, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited UPFL -0.65%, Wyeth Pakistan WYETH -1.63% and Indus Motor Company INDU -1.82%.

All Share Volume increased by 31.51 Million to 234.59 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.105.81 Billion.

Total companies traded were 382 compared to 375 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 79 closed up, 294 closed down while 9 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 10,437 to 85,874.

Value Traded increased by 3.34 Billion to Rs.16.32 Billion
