Closing Bell: A hard day’s night

May 2, 2019 (MLN): The benchmark index slipped another 230 points today closing the session at 36,547 points after a rough day on the trading floors.

Commercial Banks emerged as the top losing sector during the session, as they snatched around 54 points from the index.

In particular, the scrips that significantly influenced the benchmark index’s performance included NESTLE and HUBC as they recorded a negative changes of 5% and 2.2% in their respective share prices.

The index touched an intraday high of 36,857 points and an intraday low of 36,508 points.

Moreover, the share prices of 22 companies reported an increase, 65 companies reported a decline whereas 4 companies reported no change.

Likewise, the broader KSE All Share index ended the session on a negative note and closed the day at 26,827 points, having lost 187 points. It traded nearly 67.9 million shares, having a value of Rs.2.5 billion.
