CCoIGCT to submit Karachi Port outsourcing recommendations to Cabinet

September 11, 2023 (MLN): The Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions (CCoIGCT) on Monday discussed and agreed to submit recommendations for the outsourcing of operations at Karachi Port's Bulk and General Cargo Terminal East Wharf to the current Federal Cabinet for approval, according to a press release issued today.

The decisions discussed were finalized in the committee's previous meeting held on September 08, 2023, but they were not ratified due to the dissolution of the Cabinet.

The summary regarding the out-sourcing of operations of Bulk and General Cargo Terminal East Wharf at Karachi Port was tabled by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

Secretary Maritime Affairs briefed the meeting on the process of outsourcing of port terminal and earlier decisions of CCoIGCT in this regard.

Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs & Privatization Dr. Shamshad Akhtar chaired the meeting of the CCoIGCT.
