CCI of Turkmenistan, FPPCI sign MoU to establish Pak-Turkmen Joint Business Council

March 13, 2019 (MLN): Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President of The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Mr. Rahimberdy Jepbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce of Turkmenistan (CCI of Turkmenistan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the Pak-Turkmen Joint Business Council in presence of Mr. Rashid Meredov, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan in Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.

According to the press release, the Joint Business Council will act as a settled working strategy between the national chambers of the two countries to assist the business circles of Turkmenistan and Pakistan to strengthen and enhance bilateral economic relations between both the countries in order to stimulate a two-way trade and investment flow within the frameworks of rules, legislations issued by the concerned authorities in both countries.

Under the umbrella of FPCCI and CCI of Turkmenistan, the JBC will work to encourage and support the business communities of both countries to hold exhibitions exchange trade delegations frequently for the promotion of trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

Pakistan & Turkmenistan are members of ECO CCI and Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the bilateral trade between both the countries stands at approx.US$ 20 million  which does not reflect the true relation of the friendly countries.

On this memorable occasion, Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President FPCCI also expressed willingness to lead a high profile Trade and Business Delegation to Turkmenistan for the inaugural session of this JBC for early and continuous flow of activities of the JBC.
