June 18, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its upward momentum on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index closing at 181,398.21, gaining 887.19 points or 0.49%.
The index remained in positive territory throughout the session, touching an intraday high of 181,869.33, up 1,358.31 points, while the day's low stood at 181,045.34, reflecting a gain of 534.32 points.
Total volume traded in KSE-100 stocks stood at 445.72 million shares.

Investor sentiment remained buoyant following the signing of a peace agreement between US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian aimed at ending the Middle East conflict.
The development strengthened expectations of improved regional stability, reduced geopolitical risks, and greater certainty for global financial markets.
Of the 100 index companies, 51 closed higher while 49 ended lower.
Among the top gainers were SSOM (+10.00%), SRVI (+8.77%), POWER (+6.94%), PAKT (+5.35%), and GADT (+5.00%).
On the downside, HGFA (-4.23%), PSX (-3.53%), SHFA (-2.86%), SSGC (-2.48%), and FHAM (-1.82%) were the worst performers.

In terms of index-point contribution, HUBC added 241.51 points to the benchmark, followed by SRVI (152.62 points), FFC (109.86 points), ENGROH (93.98 points), and PPL (81.46 points).
Conversely, BAHL shaved off 76.07 points from the index, while MARI (-41.47 points), PSO (-33.98 points), MTL (-31.64 points), and PSX (-30.60 points) also weighed on market performance.

Sector-wise, the benchmark was primarily supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+257.11 points), Fertilizer (+182.82 points), Leather & Tanneries (+152.62 points), Cement (+116.26 points), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+115.04 points).
On the other hand, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-50.22 points), Automobile Assemblers (-47.86 points), Technology & Communication (-21.24 points), Miscellaneous (-14.56 points), and Refinery (-7.88 points) sectors limited further gains.

In the broader market, the All-Share Index settled at 109,207.08, gaining 651.21 points or 0.60%.
Total market volume stood at 1.24 billion shares compared to 1.23 billion shares in the previous session, while traded value amounted to Rs58.01 billion. A total of 543,750 trades were recorded in 495 companies, of which 264 closed higher, 201 declined, and 30 remained unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 55,771 points or 44.39% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 7,344 points or 4.22% so far this calendar year.
