Bourse ends week on a positive note as benchmark index gains 147 points

March 23, 2019 (MLN): On Friday KSE-100 index ended the week on positive note and gained 147 points by the day end and closed in at 38,531 points.

Oil & Gas Exploration Companies emerged as the key driver of the index’s performance as they alone contributed 163 points to the index. Among the index heavy weights, gainers on the scrips of PPL (3.95%), OGDC (2.98%), POL (1.82%) and BAFL (2.85%) coxed the index towards gains.

The index observed trading of 54 million shares of the listed scrips, having a total value of Rs. 3.8 billion. Within a range of 336 points, the index touched an intra-day high of 38,721 points and an intra-day low of 38,384 points.

The broader KSE All share also gained around 96 points by the day end and closed in at 28,197 points. It traded nearly 84 million shares, having a value of Rs. 4.4 billion.

Total 295 companies transacted shares in the Stock Market on Friday, out of which 124 recorded gains and 145 sustained losses whereas the share price of 26 companies remained unchanged.
