Bahria Town slams media for spreading ‘Malicious Propaganda’ about its financial status

November 13, 2023 (MLN): Bahria Town has categorically rejected reports circulating in the media regarding its alleged bankruptcy, terming them as 'Malicious Propaganda', as per an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter).

The statement emphasized that Bahria Town is among the most prestigious real estate brands in Asia, firmly rooted in its commitment to contribute to the progress and economic development of Pakistan.

Despite facing malicious campaigns and unwarranted criticism from a misguided faction of the media, the statement asserted, "Bahria Town persists in its dedication to serving the nation and delivering world-class projects."

Through past challenges, Bahria Town has weathered adversity, and its resolve to uplift Pakistan remains unwavering, it added.

It is crucial to note that recent media reports erroneously suggested a link between International Monetary Fund (IMF) proposals for real estate taxation and purported financial instability within Bahria Town.

The misleading narratives insinuated that Malik Riaz, Chairperson of Bahria Town, might exploit such circumstances to avoid tax and misuse public funds.

However, Bahria Town has clarified that these reports are devoid of truth and lack any foundation in reality.
