Amount of financial assistance to be decided after consultations: Director IMF

March 22, 2019 (MLN): Gerry Rice, Director IMF, has said that IMF is closely engaged with Pakistan as there have been a series of meetings with Pakistani officials. He also informed that the new mission chief will soon have introductory meetings with the authorities.

The Director said that the exact details of financial assistance amount is not in their mind yet, and it will be discussed following consultations with the authorities. Details regarding the date of conclusion of these meetings were also not given.

“We are not in position to announce about the agreement”, he said, “we would come to it after staff visits and negotiating mission” he added.
