AliBaba, Ant Financial and TDAP sign a MoU to foster e-commerce growth across Pakistan

The Chinese e-commerce giant has decided to start operations in Pakistan by facilitating exports for Pakistan’s SME’s by providing them access to the platform. The decision has been taken after a MoU was signed between AliBaba, TDA Pakistan and Ant Financial.

The MoU aims to increase growth in financial services in Pakistan in areas such as online and mobile payment services. The participating members of the MoU have also agreed to adopt cloud computing services to support the online and mobile e-commerce businesses in Pakistan.

The development took place after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to company headquarters. Under the agreement AliBaba, Ant Financial and TDAP vowed to grow worldwide exports of Small and medium enterprises in Pakistan through e-commerce. 

Online and offline training sessions will be conducted by AliBaba to help facilitate the SME’s to increase e-commerce business. TDAP will help assist finding suitable e-commerce candidates whereas AliBaba will assist in providing industry analysis to help identify potential businesses.
