May 05, 2026 (MLN): VIS Credit Rating Company Limited has reaffirmed the entity ratings of Hi-Tech Lubricants Limited (PSX:HTL) at ‘A-/A2’ (Single A minus/A Two), maintaining a stable outlook.

The rating reflects the company’s adequate credit quality, supported by a strong position in Pakistan’s lubricants market and stable demand from automotive and industrial segments.

VIS noted that HTL’s short-term rating of ‘A2’ indicates strong liquidity and a solid capacity to meet short-term obligations on time.

According to VIS, the ratings are supported by HTL’s stable business profile, relatively strong margins, and diversified operations across lubricants and fuel marketing.

However, the agency highlighted sector risks, including regulatory pressures in the oil marketing industry, exchange rate volatility, and macroeconomic sensitivity.

VIS also noted improvements in HTL’s financial profile in 1QFY26, driven by operational efficiencies and price adjustments, alongside adequate liquidity and capitalization. Debt servicing capacity showed strengthening trends during the period.

Going forward, the ratings will depend on HTL’s ability to sustain profitability, expand market share, and maintain strong liquidity and debt coverage amid industry volatility.

HTL operates in Pakistan’s lubricants and petroleum sector and is primarily engaged in the distribution of ZIC-branded lubricants sourced from South Korea’s SK Enmove Co. Ltd.

The company offers a mix of synthetic and semi-synthetic lubricants for automotive and industrial use. Distribution is managed nationwide through a network of dealers and distributors.

The company also operates a wholly owned subsidiary, Hi-Tech Blending (Private) Limited, which began blending operations in 2016 and contributes to both internal supply and export revenues.

In addition, HTL has expanded its footprint in fuel marketing through its Oil Marketing Company (OMC) operations under the HTL Fuel Stations brand, managing 61 dealer-operated fuel stations across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with HTL Express Centers.
