Hi-Tech Lubricants profit surges four-fold to Rs435m

October 28, 2026 (MLN): Consolidated profit after taxation of Hi-Tech Lubricants Limited (PSX: HTL) rose more than four-fold to Rs434.67m for the three months ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs107.19m in the same period last year.

Basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) climbed to Rs3.12 from Rs0.73 in the corresponding quarter last year.

The surge came from a 28% rise in net revenue and a 47% jump in gross profit, which more than doubled profit from operations. The absence of a levy also helped. Higher finance cost and a sharply higher tax charge partly offset the gains.

Gross revenue from contracts with customers grew 29.17% to Rs12.26bn from Rs9.49bn. Discounts nearly doubled to Rs484.18m from Rs242.69m, and sales tax rose 13.21% to Rs713.35m from Rs630.12m. Net revenue increased 28.36% to Rs11.06bn from Rs8.62bn.

Cost of sales rose at a slower pace of 26.25% to Rs9.80bn from Rs7.76bn, lifting gross profit 47.40% to Rs1.27bn from Rs858.61m.

Distribution cost increased 6.01% to Rs329.19m from Rs310.53m, while administrative expenses rose 9.39% to Rs269.39m from Rs246.27m. Other expenses fell 34.06% to Rs55.09m from Rs83.55m, and other income rose 41.14% to Rs74.40m from Rs52.71m.

As a result, profit from operations rose more than 2.5-fold to Rs686.28m from Rs270.97m.

Finance cost increased 54.93% to Rs173.01m from Rs111.67m.

Profit before levy and taxation more than tripled to Rs513.27m from Rs159.31m. The company booked no levy, against Rs50.71m last year, taking profit before taxation up nearly five-fold to Rs513.27m from Rs108.60m.

Taxation rose more than 55-fold to Rs78.60m from Rs1.41m, which absorbed part of the gains and left profit after taxation at Rs434.67m.
