Thal Limited approves subsidiary to build grain storage, milling facility

September 12, 2025 (MLN): Thal Limited’s Board of Directors, in a meeting held on September 11, 2025, approved the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Karachi under the Companies Act, 2017. The subsidiary, to be formed as a private company limited by shares, will set up a high-quality storage facility for major grains including wheat and corn.

In addition to storage infrastructure, the new company will integrate milling solutions to process and mill grains with enhanced quality and value. The facility will be located in Muzaffargarh, Punjab.

The Board also approved, subject to compliance with all statutory and legal requirements, an investment of up to USD 16 million (or equivalent in Pakistani Rupees) in the subsidiary. The investment will be carried out in phases and is expected to be completed within 20 months.

According to the company, the initiative is expected to play a significant role in improving Pakistan’s food security in the future.
