TPL takes notice of malicious media campaign against Sponsor and Director

June 25, 2021 (MLN): TPL Corp Limited has informed via notification to Exchange that the company has come across a smear campaign by a non-credible Media Channel regarding the issuance of purported arrest warrants against the Chief Executive Officer and sponsor, Ali Jameel.

The company stated that this is nothing but a useless attempt to maliciously defame its esteemed sponsors and Chief Executive Officer by the sponsors of a Media Channel.

The Company reserves the right to seek civil and criminal action against the sponsors of that Media Channel including lodging a formal complaint with PEMRA for running such malicious campaign against its Sponsor and Director, the notification added.

Speaking to Mettis Global, Danish Kazi, Company Secretary said, “We are going to do an internal investigation with regard to this issue. Apparently, they have filed a complaint against the company’s sponsor Ali Jamil and Director Sabeeha Sultan. However, we did not receive any notice and over the continued absence of accused persons, the court issued arrest warrants.”

The company is handling this malicious situation and up to fix it, he added.
