July 31, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has called for broadening bilateral cooperation with Morocco in key sectors including textiles, agriculture, leather, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.

The emphasis was laid by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, during a reception hosted by the Moroccan Embassy in Islamabad to celebrate Morocco’s National Day.

He also lauded the efforts of the Embassy, particularly under the leadership of Ambassador Mohammed Karmoune for its pivotal role in deepening bilateral ties.

Addressing the gathering, the Government of Morocco, and the Moroccan people on behalf of Pakistan, describing the National Day as a symbol of Morocco’s unity, heritage, and progress.

He commended Morocco’s achievements in sustainable development, regional diplomacy and governance, said a press release issued.

Highlighting the deep-rooted religious, cultural, and diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Morocco dating back to 1958, the Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also appreciated Morocco’s continued support for Pakistan on key issues at international platforms.

Pointing to the underutilized trade opportunities between the two countries, the Minister proposed strengthening cooperation in agricultural innovation by drawing on Morocco’s expertise in phosphate and fertilizer production.

Further, he advocated for increased academic and cultural engagement through student exchange programs and collaborative research initiatives.

The Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Morocco and expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation would lead to mutual growth and greater regional prosperity.
