July 10, 2025 (MLN): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited Turkish companies to expand their investment footprint in Pakistan, highlighting Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies and calling for deeper collaboration with Türkiye in Pakistan’s structural reforms and economic growth.

The remarks came during a meeting in Islamabad with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler.

Welcoming the Turkish delegation, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, anchored in shared history, culture, and mutual respect.

He expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to strengthening cooperation with Türkiye across diverse sectors, including trade, investment, technology, and defense.

Recalling his multiple interactions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan this year, most recently at the 17th ECO Summit, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to elevate ties with Türkiye into a strategic partnership.

He also welcomed the convening of the Joint Commission under the co-chairmanship of Senator Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, expressing hope it would further boost bilateral relations and foster multi-sectoral collaboration.

Prime Minister Sharif underlined the importance of continued strong and unwavering mutual support for each other’s core interests.

Given the rapidly evolving regional and global landscape, particularly concerning Gaza and Iran, he stressed the need for close coordination between Islamabad and Ankara.

He also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Turkish leadership and people for their steadfast backing during Pakistan’s recent tensions with India.

Sharif called for tangible efforts from both sides to achieve the mutually agreed target of elevating bilateral trade to $5 billion.

Highlighting Pakistan’s business-friendly environment, he encouraged Turkish investors to broaden their engagement in Pakistan and invited Türkiye to partner in the country’s structural reforms and economic advancement.
