Pakistan, Türkiye spark new energy ties

June 23, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Türkiye have moved to deepen their bilateral ties, with the two sides holding high-level talks focused on expanding cooperation in energy, investment, and strategic partnerships.

Minister for Privatisation Muhammad Ali met with Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in Ankara, according to Ministry of  Privatization’s X post.

The two sides reviewed avenues for enhanced collaboration across key sectors, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the long-standing relationship between Islamabad and Ankara.

The discussions came as Pakistan has been actively reinforcing its diplomatic and economic engagements across the region.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar recently visited Cairo, where he participated in the R4 Ministerial Meeting alongside the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to exchange views on key regional and international developments.

The flurry of high-level diplomatic activity reflects Islamabad's broader push to strengthen strategic partnerships across multiple fronts, with Türkiye emerging as a key partner in both the energy and foreign policy arenas.
