Pakistan Egypt ties reviewed in Cairo talks

June 22, 2026 (MLN): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar visited Cairo from 20–21 June 2026 at the invitation of Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty, where he participated in the R4 Ministerial Meeting alongside the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to exchange views on key regional and international developments.

During the discussions, the participating ministers reviewed a wide range of geopolitical and global issues, with Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, cooperation and collective efforts to address shared regional challenges.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, along with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, according to APP.

He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister and the Chief of Defence Forces, while reiterating Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen its long-standing, brotherly and multifaceted relations with Egypt.

He also welcomed President El-Sisi’s acceptance of an invitation to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.

Separately, Senator Ishaq Dar held a bilateral meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellaty, where both sides reviewed the full scope of Pakistan–Egypt relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral cooperation.

The two sides discussed expanding collaboration in trade, investment, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges, and agreed to reactivate existing bilateral mechanisms to further strengthen engagement across multiple sectors.

The two ministers also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to close coordination at bilateral and multilateral forums and emphasizing the need to promote peace, stability and sustainable development.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Government of Egypt for its hospitality and the arrangements made for the R4 Ministerial Meeting.
