PSX to roll out KSE100PR on June 30

June 28, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) is introducing a price return variant of the KSE100 index, namely the KSE 100 Price Return Index (KSE100PR), effective from Monday, June 30, 2025.

The index will be launched with backdated estimation from the base date of April 1, 2009, with a base value of 6,931 index points.

The KSE100 PR index has been developed to reflect the price-only performance of the KSE 100 Index constituents.

It will consist of the same constituents and follow the same free-float methodology as the existing KSE100 index, which will continue to serve as the total return ‘Benchmark Index’.

The key distinction is that the KSE100PR Index excludes the impact of cash dividends, offering a benchmark that purely reflects price movements. 

The KSE100 index is a total return index, i.e. dividend, bonus, rights and any other corporate actions are adjusted in the constituents of the index, whereas the KSE100PR Index is a price return index where gross cash dividends are not adjusted in the constituents of the index.
