PSX Closing Bell: What a Wonderful Run

September 26, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 162,257.00, showing an increase of 2,976.91 points or 1.87%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 162,422.28 (+3,142.19) and a low of 159,901.55 (+621.46) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 562.77 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 65 closed up, 33 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were RMPL (+9.50%), FABL (+8.63%), PTC (+8.22%), DGKC (+7.27%), and BAFL (+5.30%).

On the other hand, top losers were PIOC (-4.24%), KEL (-3.39%), TRG (-3.22%), YOUW (-2.61%), and EPCL (-2.31%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+327.75pts), UBL (+322.21pts), ENGROH (+295.24pts), HBL (+254.16pts), and MARI (+224.42pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were PIOC (-38.68pts), TRG (-29.95pts), KEL (-23.33pts), MTL (-20.78pts), and SRVI (-11.69pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+1125.59pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+458.98pts), Fertilizer (+375.14pts), Cement (+339.53pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+305.80pts).

While the index was let down by Automobile Assembler (-30.11pts), Leather & Tanneries (-11.69pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (-8.22pts), Glass & Ceramics (-5.83pts), and Transport (-4.35pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 51,850.78 with a net gain of 951.30 points or 1.87%.

Total market volume was 1,714.92 million shares compared to 1,673.57m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs70.74 billion showing an increase of Rs15.47bn.

There were 542,085 trades reported in 484 companies with 228 closing up, 230 closing down, and 26 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,630 points or 29.16% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 47,130 points or 40.94% so far this calendar year.
