PSX Closing Bell: Taking a Step Back

November 21, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 162,102.92, showing a decrease of 834.01 points or 0.51%.

The index traded in a range of 1,503.93 points showing an intraday high of 163,357.51 (+420.58) and a low of 161,853.58 (-1,083.35) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 254.63 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 25 closed up, 71 closed down, while 4 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were GHGL (-4.74%), KTML (-4.65%), MLCF (-2.78%), PSEL (-2.62%), and SRVI (-2.61%).

On the other hand, top gainers were FATIMA (+1.96%), BOP (+1.89%), TGL (+1.53%), TRG (+1.40%), and ISL (+1.25%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-243.71pts), PPL (-69.07pts), ENGROH (-57.42pts), MLCF (-47.20pts), and PSEL (-39.61pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were HBL (+48.36pts), BOP (+29.65pts), FATIMA (+28.43pts), MCB (+22.18pts), and HMB (+20.88pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-238.82pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-129.47pts), Cement (-109.95pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-64.46pts), and Miscellaneous (-60.77pts).

While the index was supported by Commercial Banks (+65.10pts), Engineering (+3.55pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (+2.94pts), Vanaspati & Allied Industries (+0.07pts), and Synthetic & Rayon (+0.00pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,924.78 with a net loss of 262.01 points or 0.51%.

Total market volume was 768.05 million shares compared to 725.87m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs28.64 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.67bn.

There were 314,942 trades reported in 475 companies with 144 closing up, 289 closing down, and 42 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,476 points or 29.03% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 46,976 points or 40.80% so far this calendar year.
