October 09, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 164,530.80, showing a decrease of 735.94 points or 0.45%.

The index traded in a range of 2,423.21 points showing an intraday high of 166,729.97 (+1,463.23) and a low of 164,306.76 (-959.98) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 698.87 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 31 closed up, 68 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were SSOM (-4.44%), KEL (-4.29%), ISL (-4.04%), INIL (-4.02%), and NBP (-3.76%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PTC (+6.92%), PSEL (+6.42%), SEARL (+4.09%), TRG (+2.92%), and MCB (+2.25%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were HBL (-192.62pts), UBL (-142.55pts), NBP (-137.23pts), SYS (-86.36pts), and BAFL (-81.63pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were MCB (+115.02pts), LUCK (+102.13pts), ENGROH (+100.14pts), PSEL (+51.90pts), and PSO (+49.51pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-532.15pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-102.89pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-51.90pts), Automobile Assembler (-42.48pts), and Engineering (-42.22pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+93.56pts), Miscellaneous (+47.89pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+20.53pts), Cement (+14.46pts), and Pharmaceuticals (+7.19pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 52,449.25 with a net loss of 237.71 points or 0.45%.

Total market volume was 1,570.38 million shares compared to 1,274.69m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs50.53 billion showing a decrease of Rs10.60bn.

There were 475,226 trades reported in 481 companies with 184 closing up, 264 closing down, and 33 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 38,903 points or 30.97% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 49,404 points or 42.91% so far this calendar year.
