PSX Closing Bell: "Higher Ground"

July 25, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 139,207.28, showing an increase of 514.62 points or 0.37%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 139,436.76 (+744.10) and a low of 138,808.64 (+115.98) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 190.96 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 51 closed up, 48 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were ATLH (+5.59%), IBFL (+4.53%), GHGL (+3.81%), PKGS (+3.60%), and ENGROH (+3.53%).

On the other hand, top losers were HGFA (-4.53%), FHAM (-4.27%), ABL (-3.93%), PSEL (-2.94%), and BNWM (-2.59%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGROH (+238.69pts), UBL (+76.78pts), LUCK (+74.21pts), MEBL (+60.31pts), and NBP (+41.58pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were HBL (-30.02pts), ABL (-29.52pts), MCB (-27.88pts), PSEL (-27.76pts), and SRVI (-24.67pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+244.48pts), Commercial Banks (+133.83pts), Cement (+90.80pts), Glass & Ceramics (+30.89pts), and Engineering (+27.96pts).

While the index was let down by Miscellaneous (-30.66pts), Leather & Tanneries (-24.67pts), Insurance (-18.27pts), Refinery (-14.21pts), and Fertilizer (-14.04pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 86,176.92 with a net gain of 382.40 points or 0.45%.

Total market volume was 634.81 million shares compared to 648.80m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs24.61 billion showing a decrease of Rs3.51bn.

There were 303,295 trades reported in 479 companies with 211 closing up, 236 closing down, and 32 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 13,580 points or 10.81% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 24,080 points or 20.92% so far this calendar year.
