PSX Closing Bell: Heartbeat on Edge

November 17, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 161,687.18, showing a decrease of 248.01 points or 0.15%.

The index traded in a range of 2,120.47 points, showing an intraday high of 163,602.15 (+1,666.96) and a low of 161,481.68 (-453.51) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 521.41 million shares. 

Of the 100 index companies, 47 closed up, 52 closed down, while 1 was unchanged.

Top losers during the day were AGP (-3.56%), MLCF (-3.02%), HGFA (-2.97%), FABL (-2.57%), and DGKC (-2.53%).

On the other hand, top gainers were KEL (+15.08%), GADT (+10.00%), PIOC (+8.69%), KTML (+7.51%), and SSGC (+4.45%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were LUCK (-146.37pts), UBL (-78.20pts), MARI (-64.02pts), HUBC (-55.96pts), and MLCF (-51.37pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were FFC (+137.53pts), PIOC (+81.27pts), KEL (+71.47pts), KTML (+43.83pts), and PPL (+35.33pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-210.06pts), Cement (-198.21pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-59.39pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-45.07pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-27.63pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+106.82pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+49.13pts), Textile Composite (+43.18pts), Insurance (+23.17pts), and Leather & Tanneries (+22.97pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 50,805.03 with a net loss of 77.93 points or 0.15%.

Total market volume was 1,214.43 million shares compared to 673.45m from the previous session, while traded value was recorded at Rs41.38 billion, showing an increase of Rs6.73bn.

There were 411,778 trades reported in 479 companies with 251 closing up, 192 closing down, and 36 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,060 points or 28.70% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 46,560 points or 40.44% so far this calendar year.
