July 07, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at an all-time high of 133,370.14, showing an increase of 1,421.08 points or 1.08%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 133,862.01 (+1,912.95) and a low of 132,467.12 (+518.06) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 344.01 million shares.

This bullish momentum is driven by a favourable taxation regime for equities under the new federal budget, triggering a shift in investments from fixed income to stocks.

It is further supported by improved external financing, including a $3.4bn loan rollover from China, and a strong forex reserve position that reached $14.5bn by end-June 2025.

PSX resumed the new week on a strong footing, with the KSE-100 Index extending its winning streak to close at 133,370—up 1,421 points or 1.08%, Ali Najib, Deputy Head of Trading at Arif Habib Limited told Mettis Global.

The rally was fueled by improving macroeconomic indicators, including rising foreign exchange reserves, a stable rupee, and declining inflation, which bolstered investor confidence, he added.

Institutional buying remained robust, particularly in banking, fertilizer, cement, pharmaceutical, and energy stocks, amid growing optimism over monetary easing and expectations of strong corporate earnings in the upcoming results season, he noted.

He further mentioned that the market's positive tone reflects continued faith in Pakistan’s economic recovery and policy direction.
