Pakistan's Forex Reserves Increase by USD 47 Million

Aug 28, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan's Forex Reserves increased by USD 47.00 Million or 0.24% and the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at USD 19,617.80 Million on Aug 22, 2025.

According to data published by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) its reserves increased by USD 18.10 Million.

While net reserves held by Commercial banks increased by USD 28.90 Million during the week.

The SBP also released monthly data which shows its reserves having decreased by 181.40 million to USD 14.3244 billion in July 2025 from 14.5058 billion a month ago.

Compared to USD 9.2209 billion from July 2024, SBP's reserves have increased by 5,103.50 million or 55.35 percent.

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at 4.6520 billion compared to 4.7634 billion from a month ago showing a decrease of USD 111.40 million. Compared to 4.7458 billion from a year ago, reserves of Banks have decreased by USD 93.80 million.

Total liquid foreign reserves held by the country at the end of July 2025 stood at USD 18.9764 billion compared to 19.2692 billion from the previous month showing a net decrease of USD 292.80 million. Compared to the corresponding month from last year, Pakistan's total reserves increased by USD 5,009.70 million or 35.87 percent.
