August 07, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's Pakistani equity market session at 145,647.13, showing an increase of 558.64 points or 0.39%.

The surge comes as PSX trading sentiment continues to strengthen, driven by improved macroeconomic indicators and increasing clarity in the government’s economic direction.

This rally builds on the recent milestone of the KSE-100 Index crossing the 145,000-point mark, a feat that has further energized investor confidence.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep satisfaction over the stock market’s performance, calling it a strong reflection of investor confidence in the government’s economic policies. “The recent upward momentum in the stock exchange indicates growing trust in the government’s direction and commitment to economic stability,” he noted.

He emphasized that facilitating business and investment remains a top priority, and highlighted reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as a key driver behind the improved economic environment. “Reforms in FBR have not only strengthened the tax structure but have also made it more business-friendly,” he added.

The Prime Minister credited these developments as signs of a recovering economy, stating, “Alhamdulillah, Pakistan’s economic trajectory is improving, and we are steadily moving toward sustainable growth.
