PSX Closing Bell: A Gentle Push Upward

December 08, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 168,303.24, showing an increase of 1,217.66 points or 0.73%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 168,755.18 (+1,669.60) and a low of 167,386.43 (+300.85) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 328.07 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 67 closed up, 32 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PTC (+9.84%), IBFL (+5.74%), SYS (+5.10%), YOUW (+4.94%), and PGLC (+4.90%).

On the other hand, top losers were HUMNL (-5.77%), KTML (-3.81%), BNWM (-2.77%), INIL (-2.30%), and UPFL (-1.75%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were FFC (+363.82pts), SYS (+234.83pts), NBP (+100.01pts), PTC (+89.72pts), and DGKC (+57.30pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were HBL (-39.17pts), UBL (-23.29pts), KTML (-22.75pts), SAZEW (-19.44pts), and HUMNL (-17.77pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Fertilizer (+355.99pts), Technology & Communication (+338.74pts), Cement (+89.62pts), Commercial Banks (+87.34pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+66.93pts).

While the index was let down by Automobile Assembler (-16.28pts), Textile Composite (-8.21pts), Glass & Ceramics (-5.33pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (-4.92pts), and Woollen (-0.33pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 101,798.93 with a net gain of 578.22 points or 0.57%.

Total market volume was 783.08 million shares compared to 686.83m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs49.95 billion showing an increase of Rs8.33bn.

There were 383,820 trades reported in 482 companies with 244 closing up, 197 closing down, and 41 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 42,676 points or 33.97% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 53,176 points or 46.19% so far this calendar year.
