PPL takes operator role in two, partners in six offshore blocks

May 21, 2026 (MLN):Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PSX: PPL) has secured eight offshore blocks under the Pakistan Offshore Bid Round 2025, taking the operator seat on two while joining as a partner in six others.
The company will lead exploration at Gharo Creek and Kochi Creek, with partner positions in Bin Qasim South, Keti Bandar, Behr, Zarrar, Offshore Deep D, and Sapat Bandar.
Production Sharing Agreements and Exploration Licenses for all eight blocks were signed on May 20, 2026, in the presence of Federal Minister for Petroleum, formally reopening Pakistan's offshore frontier after nearly two decades.
All eight blocks fall within the Indus and Makran offshore basins, adjoining the territorial waters of Sindh and Balochistan.
