PM vows to take ‘Ironclad’ Pakistan-China friendship to new heights

October 01 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its “all-weather” friendship with China, calling it an enduring bond that has only grown stronger with time.

In a special message marking the 76th National Day of the People’s Republic of China, the premier extended heartfelt felicitations to the Chinese leadership and people on behalf of the government and citizens of Pakistan.

Shehbaz lauded China’s remarkable journey of progress and stability, crediting President Xi Jinping’s “visionary leadership” for turning the country into a global role model.

“The National Day is a reminder of China’s extraordinary achievements and its vital role in global peace,” he said, wishing continued prosperity and success for the Chinese nation.

Underscoring the depth of bilateral ties, the prime minister said Pakistan took pride in a relationship founded on “mutual trust, sacrifice, and sincerity,” values that he stressed would ensure peace and prosperity for generations to come.

Reflecting on his recent “highly fruitful” visit to Beijing, Shehbaz highlighted key milestones, including Pakistan’s active participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and a landmark B2B conference where investment deals worth billions of dollars were signed.

He emphasised that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) remains the crown jewel of bilateral cooperation, noting that the transformative project has now entered its second phase with renewed vigour.

“Pakistan-China friendship is not just a diplomatic bond, it is an ironclad partnership that continues to open doors of opportunity, progress, and shared destiny,” the premier concluded.
