PM stresses need to strengthen Pakistan-Bangladesh relations

September 11, 2025 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed the need to further enhance Pakistan’s relations with Bangladesh.

He conveyed this during a meeting with Bangladesh’s Adviser on Religious Affairs, Dr. Abdul Fayez Muhammad Khalid Hossain, where he expressed satisfaction over the positive development of bilateral ties in academic exchanges, trade, economic cooperation, and people-to-people contacts.

He noted that the bond between the two countries is rooted in shared history, cultural links, and familial affinities.

The Prime Minister recalled his earlier meetings with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in New York and Cairo, lauding his visionary leadership, global contributions to poverty alleviation, and dedication to building stronger Pakistan-Bangladesh relations.

He hoped that both sides would continue to sustain the current momentum through regular high-level exchanges.

On the occasion, he renewed his invitation to the Chief Adviser to visit Pakistan, while also acknowledging the invitation extended to him by the government of Bangladesh.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of resuming direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh at an early date.
