PKR stays flat at 280.45 per USD

December 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 1.15 paisa against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.45 per USD, compared to previous closing of 280.46.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.50 and a low (ask) of 280.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.80 for buying and 281.50 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 67.38 paisa or 0.21% against the Euro, closing at 327.18 compared to the previous value of 326.50.

Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 2.71 rupees or 0.73% to 374.12 compared to 371.42 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 66.22 paisa or 0.19% against Swiss franc to close at 350.19.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.69 paisa or 0.38% to close the session at 1.8083 versus 1.8014 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee strengthened 2.44 paisa or 0.06% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.68 from 39.70.

The local currency rose by 0.30 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.73. While it depreciated by 0.63 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.37.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 3.31 rupees or 1.18%. While it has weakened 1.90 rupees or 0.68% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 10.91% and 11.16%.
