PKR rises by 3 paisa against USD

December 02, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 3.21 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.47 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.51.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.50 and a low (ask) of 280.45.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.30 for buying and 281.55 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 5.13 paisa or 0.02% against the Euro, closing at 325.73 compared to the previous value of 325.78.

Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 37.90 paisa or 0.10% to 370.51 compared to 370.88 a day ago.

The local unit increased 84.34 paisa or 0.24% against Swiss franc to close at 348.61.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 0.56 paisa or 0.31% to close the session at 1.8000 versus 1.8056 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee weakened 0.53 paisa or 0.01% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.67 from 39.67.

The local currency appreciated by 3.74 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 74.72. While it increased by 0.87 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.36.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 3.29 rupees or 1.17%. While it has depreciated 1.92 rupees or 0.69% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.91% and 11.16%.
