PKR holds steady against USD, closes at 280.76/USD

November 13, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 0.90 paisa against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.76 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.77.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.75 and a low (ask) of 280.75.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281 for buying and 281.80 for selling.

Compared with major currencies, PKR fell 1.04 rupees, or 0.32%, against the Euro, closing at 326.19, down from 325.15.

Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 8.20 paisa or 0.02% to 369.04 compared to 369.12 a day ago.

The local unit depreciated 1.84 rupees or 0.52% against Swiss franc to close at 352.90.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 0.13 paisa or 0.07% to close the session at 1.8142 versus 1.8155 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee decreased 12.07 paisa or 0.31% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.56 from 39.44.

The local currency increased by 0.24 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.86. While it appreciated by 0.35 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.44.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 3.00 rupees or 1.07%. While it has decreased 2.21 rupees or 0.79% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.94% and 11.19%.
