PKR gains 9 paisa per USD

August 08, 2025 (MLN): The PKR to USD exchange rate in August 2025 saw the Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthen by 8.90 paisa or 0.03% in Friday's interbank session, with the PKR interbank closing rate settling at PKR 282.47 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 282.56, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
Throughout the day, the PKR exchange rate today recorded an intraday high (bid) of 283.85 and a low (ask) of 284.9, marking a positive USD to PKR forex update as the rupee rises against the dollar.
Forex rates in Pakistan today reflected this slight gain.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.50 for buying and 285.15 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR appreciated 93.72 paisa or 0.28% against the Euro, closing at 329.37 compared to the previous value of 330.31.
Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 1.87 rupees or 0.50% to 379.86 compared to 377.99 a day ago.
The local unit increased 1.26 rupees or 0.36% against Swiss franc to close at 349.96.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.79 paisa or 0.41% to close the session at 1.9177 versus 1.9256 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee strengthened 4.07 paisa or 0.10% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.33 from 39.37.
The local currency rose by 2.47 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 75.27. While it rose by 2.42 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.90.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 1.30 rupees or 0.46%. While it has fell 3.92 rupees or 1.39% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 10.81% and 11.06%.
