PKR gains 10 paisa per USD

June 24, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 10.22 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 283.77 per USD, compared to previous closing of 283.87.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 283.7 and a low (ask) of 285.8.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 284.00 for buying and 285.90 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR deteriorated 2.55 rupees or 0.78% against the Euro, closing at 328.96 compared to the previous value of 326.41.
Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 3.98 rupees or 1.04% to 385.43 compared to 381.45 a day ago.
The local unit decreased 1.97 rupees or 0.57% against Swiss franc to close at 349.49.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 2.85 paisa or 1.48% to close the session at 1.9543 versus 1.9258 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee decreased 2.75 paisa or 0.07% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.53 from 39.51.
The local currency appreciated by 1.92 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 75.64. While it appreciated by 2.88 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.27.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has deteriorated against the US Dollar by 5.43 rupees or 1.91%. While it has decreased 5.22 rupees or 1.84% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 2bps to 10.97% and 11.22%.
